The Blue Lagoon was created by a water current coming out from a nearby geothermal facility. The place is both peculiar and expensive and likely the most visited site in Iceland. Awesome as it is, I would recommend any other spa (not so crowdy) if what you want is to enjoy a steam or hot water bath.
