Iceland is a very peculiar destiny to spend your holiday time. However European it is considered, the whole island emerged between the American and the European tectonic plates, and was created by volcano eruptions, most of them still active. Its landscapes are genuine: fire and snow have whittled its mountains and carved all its rocks throughout centuries of a dramatic, long history. And yet, it seems that the final chapter has not been concluded. Its inhabitants, originally Vikings, perfectly know that another eruption or earthquake is highly probable. They are used to them. When you are in Iceland, the earth reminds you that our planet is still alive, though it might seem sleepy sometimes. But sooner or later the Earth wakes up, and then, a new mountain, or valley, or lake, or whatever natural landform you can think of, will come out from below our feet.
